Burkiya is a small village of 1283 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Burkiya depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Burkiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Burkiya's pin code is 345021[4], and village code is 01971600. The area of Burkiya is segregated as 26 hectares irrigated area, 1085 hectares unirrigated, the 143 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 29 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Burkiya has One post office (Pokaran S.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Burkiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Burkiya is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1047 and has total administration over 158 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Burkiya has 186 children, 96 boys and 90 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 125 (11.94%) males constitute 61 (5.83%) of the population and females 64 (6.11%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 23 (2.20%) males constitute 13 (1.24%) of the population and females 10 (0.96%).

The workforce is 261 male, 272 female with 176 (33.02%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 106 males and 70 females. 80 males and 60 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 4 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 357 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
