California State University, Sacramento

In the city of Sacramento, California, Sacramento State Institution (CSUS, Sacramento State, or colloquially Sac State) is a public university that was founded in 1850. Sacramento State College was established in 1947 and is the eleventh-oldest institution in the California State University system, which consists of 23 campuses. Approximately 31,500 students are enrolled at the university each year, and the institution has an alumni network of more than 250,000 people. The university grants 9,000 degrees every year. The institution provides 151 distinct bachelor's degrees, 69 different master's degrees, 28 various forms of teaching certificates, and 5 different doctorate degrees in addition to other programmes.

The campus has 305 acres (123 hectares), which is covered with about 3,500 trees, with more than 1,200 of them located in the University Arboretum. The Julia Morgan House and the Pony Express terminal, both of which are on the National Register of Historic Places, are located on the campus of the institution. In 2012, the Arbor Day Foundation designated the institution as "Tree Campus USA," the first campus to get this designation.
