Cansarvornem is a small village of 1116 hectares in Pernem Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Cansarvornem depends on PERNEM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 1.44% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Cansarvornem is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Cansarvornem's pin code is 403512[5], and village code is 00001800. The workforce is 456 male, 106 female with 371 (66.01%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 312 males and 59 females. 45 males and 22 females are considered as the main cultivators. 191 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PERNEM and North Goa to sell cashew nuts and make their living.
