Carmen Gloria Pérez[1][2] (born October 25, 1980 in The Bronx, New York) is a Puerto Rican-Americanactor, artist, writer,[3] filmmaker who served in the United States Army.[4][5][6] Pérez has over 60 acting credits and is best known for the role of Linda on the Swedish Netflix[7][8] original series, Young Royals and Captain Vasquez on Lucha Underground.[9][10][11][12]
Pérez was born on October 25, 1980, in The Bronx, New York.[13] When she was 10 years old, her parents divorced, and she moved with her mother to Puerto Rico.
At the age of 17, Pérez joined the U.S. Army[14] where she held a clearance to work at The Pentagon with the Department of Defense (DOD), as well as closely with the United States Treasury. After six years of active military service both overseas and in Washington, D.C., Pérez was honorably discharged as a Sergeant (E-5) with many awards.[15]
She then earned a Bachelor’s Degree from George Mason University in Government & International Politics with a minor in Legal Studies.[16] Just before graduating, Pérez enrolled in a weekend acting class, leading her to pursue her career as an actor.[17][18][19]
Pérez has over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, with more than 40 acting credits. Pérez has appeared in various TV series and films, including the Netflix series "Young Royals," "A Storm For Christmas," and the film "Tina og Bettina 2: The Comeback."
Beyond acting, Pérez is a writer, producer, and content creator. She has written, produced, directed, and edited numerous short-form pieces of content, including music videos and experimental short films, through her content creation lab, House of Experiments. She is working in pre-production as a writer, producer, and actress on the short film "Irreplaceable."
Pérez is also an accomplished author and illustrator. In 2019, she published the Kid Astronomy series, a children's book series inspired by her love of space and her mission to promote STEAM subjects to children. Her artwork has been exhibited in California, and her originals and prints have been sold worldwide.
As a jazz singer, Pérez released her EP, "The Art of Love," in 2018, which was nominated for Best Jazz EP by the Independent Music Awards in 2019. Her songs "Emergency" and "Overload," with Dauman Music, reached the Top 40 in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and UK Pop charts.
Additionally, the popular lounge/chillout series Café Del Mar Dreams 9 (2016) featured her co-composed piece "Pajarito," a collaboration with the late British producer Matt Powell.
Pérez has been featured in several media outlets for her achievements as a diverse artist, including All About Jazz, Billboard, and Latina Style Magazine.

The Casting Society of America recognized her in the top 10% of the "Mi Gente!" Latine Database in 2023, placing her among the top 380 out of 3,800 submissions.
In 2003, she received the Best Supporting Actress award from the Valley Theatre League Artistic Director Achievement (ADA) Awards for her performance in the play "Soldiers Don't Cry."
In 2023, Perez was selected as a part of the Top 10% in the "Mi Gente!" Latine Database for Casting Society of America.
