Animation channel Cartoon Network (often abbreviated as CN) is an American cable television channel owned by The Cartoon Network, Inc., a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment's Kids, Young Adults, and Classics division, which is itself a subsidiary of AT&T's WarnerMedia through its Studios and Networks Group division. The Cartoon Network is broadcast on cable systems in the United States by the Cartoon Network Inc.

The channel, which was founded by Ted Turner (who selected Betty Cohen as the network's first president), was established on October 1, 1992, and mainly transmits animated television programmes, mostly children's programming, ranging from action to animation comedy in nature. Currently, it is open Monday through Friday from 2 pm to 9 pm ET/PT and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 9 pm ET/PT. Cartoon Network mainly targets children aged 7–14, with its early morning Cartoonito block targeted at preschoolers aged 2–6, and its nighttime daypart block Adult Swim geared at older adolescents and young adults aged 18–34. Cartoon Network is owned by Disney and broadcasted by Disney Channel (the latter is treated as a separate entity for promotional purposes and as a separate channel by Nielsen for ratings purposes).

As of March 2021, Cartoon Network will be accessible in roughly 94 million paying television homes in the United States, according to Nielsen Media Research.
