Chakwara is a small village of 2391 hectares in Phagi Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chakwara depends on Bagru, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 56.38% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chakwara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chakwara's pin code is 303005[4], and village code is 01529100. The area of Chakwara is segregated as 56.38 hectares irrigated area, 2231.9 hectares unirrigated, the 87.83 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 14.49 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chakwara has One post office (Chakwada B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Chakwara has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Chakwara is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4468 and has total administration over 660 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Chakwara has 505 children, 275 boys and 230 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 796 (17.82%) males constitute 431 (9.65%) of the population and females 365 (8.17%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 298 (6.67%) males constitute 152 (3.40%) of the population and females 146 (3.27%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2080 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1081 male, 999 female with 1901 (91.39%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1048 males and 853 females. 664 males and 599 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 115 male and 225 female agricultural labor. 179 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bagru and Jaipur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
