Chamu is a small village of 1400 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chamu depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 45.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chamu is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chamu's pin code is 342306[4], and village code is 01977900. The area of Chamu is segregated as 55 hectares irrigated area, 1219 hectares unirrigated, the 44 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 82 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chamu is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2185 and has total administration over 377 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 590 male, 280 female with 641 (73.68%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 541 males and 100 females. 148 males and 49 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 103 male and 33 female agricultural labor. 229 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
