Chandni is a small village of 614 hectares in Degana Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chandni depends on Goredi Chancha, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 40.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chandni is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Chandni's pin code is 341503[4], and village code is 01851000. The area of Chandni is segregated as 40 hectares irrigated area, 473.28 hectares unirrigated, the 25.46 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 74.91 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chandni has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Chandni is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 825 and has total administration over 170 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Chandni has 118 children, 69 boys and 49 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 392 (47.52%) males constitute 196 (23.76%) of the population and females 196 (23.76%).

The workforce is 201 male, 241 female with 364 (82.35%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 184 males and 180 females. 151 males and 157 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 21 male and 21 female agricultural labor. 78 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Goredi Chancha and Nagaur to sell earthen pots and make their living.
