Chautra is a small village of 339 hectares in Simalwara Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chautra depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 23.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chautra is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chautra's pin code is 314403[4], and village code is 03362400. The area of Chautra is segregated as 43 hectares irrigated area, 146.51 hectares unirrigated, the 56 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 93 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chautra is a census village in the district of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1393 and has total administration over 300 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled tribe counts for 854 (61.31%) males constitute 431 (30.94%) of the population and females 423 (30.37%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell rope and make their living.
