Chhatri is a small village of 867 hectares in Ajmer Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chhatri depends on Ajmer, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 3.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Chhatri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chhatri's pin code is 305023[4], and village code is 02502900. The area of Chhatri is segregated as 261.53 hectares irrigated area, 513.15 hectares unirrigated, the 36.37 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 55.8 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chhatri has Twenty public telephones. Chhatri has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Chhatri is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2528 and has total administration over 436 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Chhatri has 444 children, 215 boys and 229 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 179 (7.08%) males constitute 93 (3.68%) of the population and females 86 (3.40%).

According to a census 2011 report, 780 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 619 male, 161 female with 539 (69.1%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 502 males and 37 females. 178 males and 5 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 79 male and 17 female agricultural labor. 241 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Ajmer to sell shoes and make their living.
