Chittora is a small village of 2369 hectares in Phagi Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chittora depends on Jaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 144.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chittora is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chittora's pin code is 303904[4], and village code is 01538500. The area of Chittora is segregated as 244.01 hectares irrigated area, 1435.75 hectares unirrigated, the 590.83 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 98.31 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chittora has One post office (Chittora Renwal S.O). Chittora has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Chittora is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3828 and has total administration over 571 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Chittora has 519 children, 272 boys and 247 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 423 (11.05%) males constitute 228 (5.96%) of the population and females 195 (5.09%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 55 (1.44%) males constitute 29 (0.76%) of the population and females 26 (0.68%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2086 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1154 male, 932 female with 1463 (70.13%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 917 males and 546 females. 518 males and 454 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 30 male and 27 female agricultural labor. 623 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaipur and Jaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
