Constant Thomas John Tedder (born c. 1970) is a British serial entrepreneur. In 2001, Tedder invested in video game developer Jagex Ltd together with Andrew Gower, Paul Gower, and Ian Gower, becoming a co-founder and CEO.[1][2] He helped to drive the launch of a paid RuneScape subscription, launched in February 2002, which granted players access to exclusive content.[3] In 2007, after Jagex reached the milestone of 1 million RuneScape subscribers,[4][5] Tedder stepped down as CEO.[6] At the time, the company’s subscriptions revenues were estimated to be in excess of $50 million annually.[7] He officially resigned from the Board of Directors in 2010.[8][9] In 2016, Tedder along with other founders and investors sold their stakes in the company privately to Chinese investors Hongtou Network Technology Co., Ltd. for a total consideration cited to be in excess of $300 million.[10][11][12][13][14]
In 2012, Tedder founded the Hive Worldwide Ltd, an APAC coworking operator, in Hong Kong.[15] He then led the expansion of the firm as the Chief Executive Officer to open 20 additional locations in Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Australia.[16][17]
Tedder is also the founder of Scottish wind farm developer Dawn Energy and receipt management provider Expense Magic, both of which were established in 2010.[18] He has also been the co-founder and lead investor of insect protein company FlyFarm Worldwide Ltd since 2016.[18] In 2018, Tedder founded non-profit Earth.Org, an environmental news and data science platform and established the company as a charitable organisation in Hong Kong in 2020.[18][19]
Tedder attended the University of Bristol. After graduating, he worked in Cambridge and London, England before moving to Hong Kong in 2012, where he now lives with his wife and 3 children.[7][20][21]
Tedder owns the Tenuta Petrarolo Pistola Estate in the Puglia region in Italy, which was designed by former Soho House Head of Design Europe James Waterworth.[22]
