Cranfield University

Cranfield University is a public research university in the United Kingdom that caters to postgraduate students and focuses on the fields of science, engineering, design, technology, and management. In 1946, Cranfield was established as a college first known as the College of Aeronautics (CoA). The advancement of aviation research during the 1950s and 1960s led to expansion and diversification into other fields including as manufacturing and management, which eventually led to the establishment of the Cranfield School of Management in 1967. In 1969, the College of Aeronautics changed its name to the Cranfield Institute of Technology, became a university, was established by royal licence, and received the ability to offer degrees. All of these events occurred simultaneously. It wasn't until 1993 that it received its present name.

Cranfield University consists of two locations: the main campus can be found in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, while the second location can be found at the Defense Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham, which is located in southwest Oxfordshire.
