Daniel Godwin is a Canadian writer and producer best known for his work on the TV Series - Flashpoint and X Company. Throughout his career, he has worked as a multi-genre artist on a variety of projects, focusing primarily on drama, action and adventure.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Godwin grew up in Burnt River, Ontario. He received his diploma from Fenelon Falls Secondary School and then graduated from the Toronto Film School with a degree in filmmaking. During this time he was also a drummer for the punk band Springloaded.[2]

Career[edit]

Godwin started his career in 2009 as a story editor on the TV series Flashpoint created by Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern. He wrote episodes for the fourth and fifth seasons of the series which aired on CTV and CBS.

In 2013, Godwin worked as a story editor and writer on the TV Series, Played created by Greg Nelson. For this, he was also nominated for a Writer's Guild of Canada Award for best TV Drama.

In 2014, Godwin became a writer and producer on the CBC Television series, X Company, which was filmed in Budapest, Hungary. In 2015 he worked with A24 and wrote The Offer, a short film starring Hugh Dillon. In 2017, Godwin developed a half-hour drama/comedy series for CBC while working for New Metric Media.

From 2018-2022, Godwin has developed drama series projects at CBC for Boat Rocker and Alibi Entertainment.
