Darren McCaffrey is a Northern Irish political reporter for GB News since 2021. He has previously worked for Sky News (2009–2018) and Euronews (2018–2021).
McCaffrey was born near Newtownbutler in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.[1]
McCaffrey initially worked for the BBC, before joining Sky News in 2009 as a reporter,[2] initially as its UK political correspondent but later as its Dublin correspondent.[3]
In 2018, he left Sky to work for Euronews as a political editor and a presenter.[4]
In 2021, he left Euronews for GB News, to become its political editor.[5][6] He is a co-presenter on its morning programme, The Great British Breakfast.[7] His interview with the home secretary, Priti Patel, featured on the front page of The Times.[8] In August 2021 it was announced that McCaffrey would host a new political programme on the channel: The Briefing: PM with Darren McCaffrey.[9]
