David Garcia Gonzalez is an Anglo-Spanish serial entrepreneur, author, influencer, speaker, voice-over talent, and business investor. He is best known for founding GoLocalise, a one-stop-shop localisation company based in central London. He is also the owner and CEO of Nice Biscuits, a post-production company, and DGG Capital, an investment company that specialises in investments and business acquisitions.[1]
Garcia Gonzalez has built a network of more than 1,000 translators, subtitlers, and voice over talents working in over 100 languages. This has enabled David to punch above his weight and attract a client base of over 400 companies across a wide range of sectors including blue-chip multinationals, e-learning and production companies, and large translation companies, working with such well-known international brands as the BBC, Warner Bros, Viacom, and The V&A Museum.
David Garcia Gonzalez and his business GoLocalise have won a string of awards including ‘Outstanding Business’ and ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ in the Global Business Excellence Awards, ‘Best Product Service’ and ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur’ in the Best Business Awards and twice in a year ‘National Entrepreneur of the Month’ by the Entrepreneurs’ Circle. GoLocalise is ISO 9001 certified for Quality Management and ISO 14000 certified for Environmental Management.
Garcia Gonzalez completed his BA (Hons) in TEFL and Computer Applications with Italian from The University of Essex in 2002. In 2003, he graduated from London Metropolitan University with a degree in MA - Translation Studies (Legal and Political). In 2005, Garcia Gonzalez completed an MA in Audiovisual Translation from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona.
David Garcia Gonzalez came to the UK in 1998 and worked as a translator and Spanish-speaking voice-over talent for more than 10 years. In 2008, David took the plunge and set up his own localisation company from scratch. He invested in two state-of-the-art recording studios and offices with top-of-the-range equipment. David’s biggest success as an entrepreneur was GoLocalise, offering translation, voice-over and subtitling services all under one roof. Garcia Gonzalez streamlined the localisation industry, introduced new efficiencies for clients, and sped up the process of adapting audiovisual content. The growth of social media and the increasing requirement of businesses to localise their audiovisual content for foreign markets – particularly China and South America – have contributed to the success of GoLocalise. As of 2020, the company now employs eight permanent staff and is turning close to a million pounds per annum. Garcia Gonzalez has quickly become a ‘jack of all trades’ when it comes to business skills, whether that be finance, marketing, or people management.
In August 2014, he joined the Entrepreneurs’ Circle, which is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Nigel Botterill who set it up as “a place where UK business owners, who want to become super successful, go to grow”. Since 2010, the Entrepreneurs’ Circle has helped thousands of UK business owners become more profitable and more successful.
David Garcia Gonzalez has received a huge amount of practical support from the Entrepreneurs’ Circle, including marketing advice and mentoring, which he claims have given him and his businesses a massive boost. In an interview Garcia Gonzalez said “The Entrepreneurs’ Circle has taught me new skills I didn’t have before. But just as importantly, it has given me the confidence to be a better business leader and take GoLocalise to the next level nationally and internationally.”
