Dechoo is a small village of 8709 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dechoo depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dechoo is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dechoo's pin code is 342314[4], and village code is 01973900. The area of Dechoo is segregated as 864.39 hectares irrigated area, 6949 hectares unirrigated, the 585 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 311 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Dechoo has One post office (Dechu S.O) and Twenty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Dechoo has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Dechoo is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 6121 and has total administration over 996 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dechoo has 1257 children, 649 boys and 608 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 934 (15.26%) males constitute 503 (8.22%) of the population and females 431 (7.04%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 662 (10.82%) males constitute 341 (5.57%) of the population and females 321 (5.24%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1750 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1314 male, 436 female with 1283 (73.31%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1008 males and 275 females. 285 males and 62 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 122 male and 26 female agricultural labor. 467 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
