Decorian Patterson (born February 22, 2000) is an American football cornerback for the UCF Knights.

Early years[edit]

Patterson's hometown is Leesburg, Florida and he attended Leesburg High School. Patterson would decide to commit to play college football at the University of Middle Tennessee.[1]

College career[edit]

Middle tennessee[edit]

In Patterson's first year in 2018 he notched nine tackles with 0.5 tackle going for a loss.[2] In the 2019 season Patterson had 39 tackles with three being for a loss, and six pass deflections.[3] In week three of the 2020 season, Patterson recorded his first career interception as he picked off a pass by quarterback Gunnar Watson in the endzone, but the Blue Raiders would fall to Troy.[4] In the 2020 season, Patterson totalled 43 tackles with five going for a loss, 2.5 sacks, four pass deflections, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble.[5] Patterson finished the 2021 season with 27 tackles, seven pass deflections, an interception, and a fumble recovery.[6] In week five of the 2022 season, Patterson had a great performance bringing in two interceptions, but Middle Tennessee would lose to 2022 UTSA Roadrunners football team|UTSA 45-30.[7] In the 2022 Hawaii Bowl, Patterson hauled in an interception, as he helped the Blue Raiders win their bowl game beating San Diego State 25-23.[8] Patterson finished his breakout 2022 season with 65 tackles with two being for a loss, 12 pass deflections, and seven interceptions which were tied for the most in the 2022 FBS Season.[9][10]

UCF[edit]

After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Patterson announced his desicion to transfer to UCF to continue out the rest of his college career.[11][12] Patterson is projected as high as a first round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.[13]
