Dei is a small village of 2957 hectares in Nainwa Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dei depends on NAINWA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dei is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dei's pin code is 323802[3], and village code is 02723200. The area of Dei is segregated as 797 hectares irrigated area, 1432 hectares unirrigated, the 380 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 197.93 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Dei has One post office (Dei S.O) and Four Hundred public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Dei has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Dei is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 12884 and has total administration over 2534 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
- Dei has 1679 children, 887 boys and 792 girls.
- Scheduled caste counts for 2690 (20.88%) males constitute 1408 (10.93%) of the population and females 1282 (9.95%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 1356 (10.52%) males constitute 719 (5.58%) of the population and females 637 (4.94%).

According to a census 2011 report, 4503 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 3244 male, 1259 female with 3595 (79.84%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 2882 males and 713 females. 805 males and 354 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 62 male and 33 female agricultural labor. 908 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of NAINWA and Bundi to sell oil and make their living.
