Dethani is a small village of 1098 hectares in Malpura Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dethani depends on Malpura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dethani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dethani's pin code is 304502[4], and village code is 02589000. The area of Dethani is segregated as 14 hectares irrigated area, 805 hectares unirrigated, the 222 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 57 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Dethani has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Dethani is a census village in the district of Tonk, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1135 and has total administration over 222 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dethani has 167 children, 94 boys and 73 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 317 (27.93%) males constitute 163 (14.36%) of the population and females 154 (13.57%).

The workforce is 332 male, 242 female with 341 (59.41%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 197 males and 144 females. 126 males and 79 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 27 male and 58 female agricultural labor. 233 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Malpura and Tonk to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
