Dhowara is a small village of 1085 hectares in Hindoli Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dhowara depends on BUNDI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 102.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Dhowara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The workforce is 1170 male, 967 female with 770 (36.03%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 616 males and 154 females. 307 males and 106 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 177 male and 15 female agricultural labor. 1367 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bundi to sell earthen pots and make their living.
