Dhowara is a small village of 1085 hectares in Hindoli Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dhowara depends on BUNDI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 102.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Dhowara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dhowara's pin code is 323024[3], and village code is 02704500. The area of Dhowara is segregated as 526.01 hectares irrigated area, the 225.01 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 310 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Dhowara has One post office (Dhowara B.O) and Thirty Six public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Dhowara has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Dhowara is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3089 and has total administration over 649 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dhowara has 411 children, 225 boys and 186 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 637 (20.62%) males constitute 323 (10.46%) of the population and females 314 (10.17%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 4 (0.13%) males constitute 2 (0.06%) of the population and females 2 (0.06%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2137 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1170 male, 967 female with 770 (36.03%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 616 males and 154 females. 307 males and 106 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 177 male and 15 female agricultural labor. 1367 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bundi to sell earthen pots and make their living.
