Dora is a small village of 2121 hectares in Bundi Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dora depends on BUNDI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dora is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Dora's pin code is 323021[3], and village code is 02777900. The area of Dora is segregated as 71 hectares irrigated area, 42 hectares unirrigated, the 560 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 110 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Dora has One post office (Dora B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Dora has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Dora is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 897 and has total administration over 194 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dora has 144 children, 80 boys and 64 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 117 (13.04%) males constitute 71 (7.92%) of the population and females 46 (5.13%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 225 (25.08%) males constitute 111 (12.37%) of the population and females 114 (12.71%).

The workforce is 291 male, 257 female with 257 (46.9%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 212 males and 45 females. 159 males and 33 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 9 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 291 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bundi to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
