Dowani is a small village of 1015 hectares in Kapasan Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dowani depends on Kapasan, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 137.29% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dowani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dowani's pin code is 312202[4], and village code is 03619800. The area of Dowani is segregated as 137.29 hectares irrigated area, 286.44 hectares unirrigated, the 422.94 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 168.09 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Dowani has One post office (Dowani B.O) and One public telephone. Dowani has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Dowani is a census village in the district of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2019 and has total administration over 381 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dowani has 265 children, 158 boys and 107 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 270 (13.37%) males constitute 134 (6.64%) of the population and females 136 (6.74%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 208 (10.30%) males constitute 111 (5.50%) of the population and females 97 (4.80%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kapasan and Chittorgarh to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
