Dowas is a small village of 529 hectares in Kumbhalgarh Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dowas depends on UDAIPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dowas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dowas's pin code is 313701[4], and village code is 03010000. The area of Dowas is segregated as 62 hectares irrigated area, 28 hectares unirrigated, the 139.16 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 299.87 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Dowas has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Dowas is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1265 and has total administration over 280 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dowas has 203 children, 101 boys and 102 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 60 (4.74%) males constitute 27 (2.13%) of the population and females 33 (2.61%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 729 (57.63%) males constitute 368 (29.09%) of the population and females 361 (28.54%).

The workforce is 348 male, 277 female with 147 (23.52%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 132 males and 15 females. 69 males and 6 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 22 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 478 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of UDAIPUR and Rajsamand to sell juggary and make their living.
