Dugari is a small village of 2755 hectares in Nainwa Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dugari depends on NAINWA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Dugari is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dugari's pin code is 323802[3], and village code is 02718200. The area of Dugari is segregated as 403 hectares irrigated area, 931 hectares unirrigated, the 947 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 300 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Dugari has One post office (Dugari B.O) and Thirty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Dugari has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Dugari is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4629 and has total administration over 992 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Dugari has 696 children, 378 boys and 318 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1135 (24.52%) males constitute 600 (12.96%) of the population and females 535 (11.56%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 503 (10.87%) males constitute 259 (5.60%) of the population and females 244 (5.27%).

The workforce is 1164 male, 888 female with 1371 (66.81%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 942 males and 429 females. 496 males and 250 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 127 male and 106 female agricultural labor. 681 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of NAINWA and Bundi to sell juggery and make their living.
