Konstantin Mikhailov (Константин Михайлов, born February 27, 1992), known professionally as EIME, is a Russian hip-hop producer, multi-instrumentalist, beatmaker, composer from Saint Petersburg. EIME is representing the Russian underground boom bap scene. His style is redefining classical boom-bap drums with jazzy and funky harmonies in a minimalistic conception. EIME's influenced by the East Coast scene (jazzy boom bap) in the early '90s.[1] Konstantin began his music career in 2010 releasing demos in genres hip hop, trip hop, downtempo, electronica. Konstantin Mikhailov is founder of the Russian underground indie hip hop label The Real Old School Hip Hop.[2]

Career[edit]

Konstantin started playing guitar at the age of 12 and began making beats in his teens. His official debut instrumental album Roads to the Sun[3][4], was released in 2019. The album is reminiscent of trip hop and hip hop with its use of jazz samples, orchestral instruments, classical piano, violin, atmosperic synths and scratching. Track Alone was on the fisrt place in TOP20 CCG NETWORK RADIO in the show "Get Your Music Reviewed LIVE with P. The Politician From CCG Network Radio" Week Of 11/17/19, 11/24/19, 12/01/19, 12/08/19[5]. In 2020, EIME released the second album The Real Old School Hip Hop[6][7] primarily composed of instrumental music based on samples of Soviet Bloc and classical boom bap drums. Track Lovers was on the fisrt place in TOP20 CCG NETWORK RADIO in the show "Get Your Music Reviewed LIVE with P. The Politician From CCG Network Radio" July 2020[8].In 2021, EIME released the third album The Real Old School Hip Hop, Vol. 2[9][10] composed of instrumental music based on jazzy synth and boom bap beats. In December 2021, EIME released the fourth album The Real Old School Hip Hop, Vol. 3. He developed a fan base through his YouTube videos and Spotify playlists. Konstantin is founder of the Russian underground indie hip hop label "The Real Old School Hip Hop".[2]
