Eastwood By The Lake, formerly known as Eastwood Beach Apartment Hotel [1][2], is a condominium and apartment building in the Uptown, Chicago|Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. It is the oldest known Residential Hotel built in Chicago during the twentieth century[3]. It was designed in 1912[1] by distinguished Architect John Augustus Nyden[4] as a glamorous unique hotel with 25 balconies, lounging room[5] and a rooftop ballroom[6] next to the beach.[7] It was renovated in the 2000s and is located across the street from the Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital.

Design[edit]

Eastwood by the Lake was designed in 1912[1] by distinguished Architect John Augustus Nyden[4]. The original fireproof construction consisted of eighty apartments and boasted the proximity to Clarendon Avenue Beach.[8] One unique feature was that it featured specially designed kitchenettes.[9][10]

Apartments[edit]

There are 47 units and building amenities include elevators, delivery lockers, pet friendly environment, and a common rooftop deck with panoramic skyline and lake views.
