Election-net is an independent Congolese[1] online magazine[2] created by Nelly Efambe and Jose Junior Owawa in 2018.[3] The platform is best known for providing detailed and well-researched articles on a number of topics especially elections and security.[4] Election-net is a subsidiary of the Afriquinfo by Good Luck Event's agency headquartered in the Democratic Republic of Congo.[5]
The original concept behind the website is to report elections,[6] politics, security, and sports news curated by a team of professional journalists from Washington, Kinshasa, and within the Democratic Republic of Congo.[7] As a joint company, Election-net has a share capital of over $23,000 and is registered under CD / KIN / RCCM / 14-A-18228.[8][9]
Election-net was created in 2018 as a subsidiary of the Afriquinfo by Good Luck Event's agency.[10] Since its inception, the platform has published numerous articles by professional journalists in Washington, Kinshasa and within the Democratic Republic of Congo serving the global audience, providing detailed information concerning topics like elections, politics, security, and sports.[11][12]
The platform has been expanding its inventory every year, adding new topics of interest, generating revenue from the sale of articles,[13] communications, and on-platform advertising. Some of the key contributors to this unique platform are Jose Junior Owawa, Nelly Efambe, Diebon Mughenze,[14] Lievin Luzolo, and Prince Bagheni.[15][16]
Election-net covers a diverse range of topics including national coverage on elections, politics,[17] security,[18] economy,[19] education,[20] culture,[21] sport,[22] and health.[23] Within three years of its inception, the platform has widened its reach to include international coverage of these topics as well.[24][25]
