Farhad Khorasani (Persian: فرهاد خراسانی) is the founder and chair of Iranian American Sport Association (IASA).[1] He appears on Persian TV to comment on Iran-US sports relations.
Khorasani earned a Juris Doctor degree at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2019.[2][3]
Khorasni is a public interest lawyer and takes cases solo at his law firm, Khorasani Law Office.[4]
Inspired by the 2013 “Rumble on the Rails” wrestling exhibition matches where 3 traditional political rivals Iran, US, and Russia joined forces and successfully campaigned against the impending plans by the International Olympic Committee to drop wrestling from future games, and the 2014 U.S. Department of State’s Iran-USA sports diplomacy initiative, Khorasani founded IASA - Iranian American Sport and Culture Association, a Los-Angeles based 501c3 nonprofit organization - to help save his family sport, Olympic wrestling, and to bridge the sports gap between the two nations and support USA-Iran Sports Diplomacy.[5][6]
Khorasani has been a guest on Royal Time Tv,[7] Omid-E-Iran OITN,[8], and Pars TV sports shows.
Born in a wrestling family, Khorasani followed his father's footsteps who was an Iranian national wrestling legend. His father, Hossein Khorasani, trained him in sports from an early age. Farhad excelled in different sports varying from gymnastics, swimming, soccer, and judo to wrestling. Hossein was Farhad's wrestling coach.[9]
