FASHIOLA is a digital fashion aggregator platform owned by LIFULL CO.[1][2][3][4] Launched in 2012 with the name Kleding.nl as a fashion search engine, which operates with the name FASHIOLA around the world.[5][6][7][8] The company has its headquarter in Amsterdam with offices in Madrid as well..[9]
The company was founded in 2012 in Nijverdal, The Netherlands with the name KLEDING B.V. by Jan-Willem Tusveld, Rudy Kappert and Peter Langenkamp.[10][11][12][13] Initially, the company had only available in the Dutch website but with 7.5 million sales in the first fiscal year, the company expanded to the international markets with the name FASHIOLA.[14][15] The website was first launched in Germany in 2013, followed by Great Britain in 2014, and France, and Spain in 2015.[16][17][18][19][20]
In 2017, the Spanish company Mitula Group acquired KLEDING B.V. and its brand FASHIOLA for 11 million euros.[21][22][23] In 2018 the company launched the website in Czech Republic. Allowing then FASHIOLA to be available in 25 markets.[24][25][26]
In January 2019, Mitula Group (including Kleding.nl/Fashiola) was acquired by the japanese group LIFULL CO to form a major alliance as LIFULL CONNECT, with brands like Dot Property, Mitula, Trovit, and Resem.[27]
Users can browse the website to find a fashion product that they are interested in, or one that looks similar to what they are looking for, with the advantage of finding and filtering through all kind of different shops collected in one single website. Users can make more specific search by filtering by price range, sizes, color, brand, product category or new collections.[28] Once they have made their decision, the shoppers are redirected to the specific shop for finalizing the purchase.[29][30] They can set product sale alerts and be notified when the product price is on sale or if there is a specific discount code.[31] Shoppers can also save products in their account and receive alerts when the size and style is back in. FASHIOLA also allows users to create their own stylebooks, by selecting the fashion items they like.[32][33] This feature allows users to generate content and viral promotion of fashion products and share it with friends, contacts and fellow shoppers.[34]
