Feminism

Feminism is a broad term that encompasses a variety of social movements, political movements, and philosophies that seek to define and achieve gender equality in political, economic, personal, and social spheres. Feminism encompasses the belief that civilizations place a high value on the male point of view and that women are unfairly treated within such communities. The battle against gender stereotypes, as well as the establishment of educational, professional, and interpersonal opportunities and results for women that are equal to or better than those for males, are examples of change efforts.

Throughout history, feminist groups have fought for, and continue to fight for, women's rights, which include the ability to vote, hold public office, work, earn equal pay with men, own property, obtain education, sign contracts, have equal rights within marriage, and to take maternity leave. Equal access to legal abortions and social inclusion, as well as protection against rape, sexual harassment, and domestic abuse, have been among the goals of feminists for many years. Changes in the norms of female clothing and the kind of physical activity that are appropriate for females have often been a component of feminist movements.
