Flying Lessons (2023) is a feature film by Sarah Waldron starring Julia Schanker and Shayvawn Webster. The film centers on autism, and was created by autistic artists.

Flying Lessons was filmed in 2021 in Darlington, MD.

The film was produced by Danielle Cooper and Sarah Waldron, and executive produced by Eric Stoltz and Jin Ha.

The production budget was 20,000. This is Sarah Waldron's first feature.

Premiere[edit]

Flying Lessons premiered at Chelsea Film Festival on October 15, 2023, where Julia Schanker was awarded "Best Young Actress."[1]

Funding[edit]

Flying Lessons was a recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts Women in Film Finishing Fund, supported by the Mayors Office of Media and Entertainment in New York. [2] The grant funded post-production and marketing for the film.
