Gagarwa is a small village of 847 hectares in Banswara Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gagarwa depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gagarwa is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Gagarwa's pin code is 327001[4], and village code is 03428700. The area of Gagarwa is segregated as 25 hectares irrigated area, 230 hectares unirrigated, the 35 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 137 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gagarwa has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Gagarwa is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1463 and has total administration over 322 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gagarwa has 310 children, 163 boys and 147 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 11 (0.75%) males constitute 5 (0.34%) of the population and females 6 (0.41%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1450 (99.11%) males constitute 763 (52.15%) of the population and females 687 (46.96%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 734 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 371 male, 363 female with 514 (70.03%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 337 males and 177 females. 298 males and 60 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 26 male and 108 female agricultural labor. 220 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
