Gagrana is a small village of 3198 hectares in Merta Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gagrana depends on Merta City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gagrana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Gagrana's pin code is 341510[4], and village code is 01833900. The area of Gagrana is segregated as 2018 hectares irrigated area, 948 hectares unirrigated, the 180 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 52.34 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gagrana has One post office (Gagrana B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Gagrana has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Gagrana is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 6307 and has total administration over 1150 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gagrana has 933 children, 527 boys and 406 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1937 (30.71%) males constitute 1043 (16.54%) of the population and females 894 (14.17%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2 (0.03%) males constitute 1 (0.02%) of the population and females 1 (0.02%).

The workforce is 1715 male, 888 female with 2574 (98.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1706 males and 868 females. 780 males and 350 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 465 male and 469 female agricultural labor. 29 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Merta City and Nagaur to sell ghee and make their living.
