Gagron is a small village of 766 hectares in Jhalrapatan Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gagron depends on Jhalawar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Gagron is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gagron's pin code is 326001[4], and village code is 03996700. The area of Gagron is segregated as 50.31 hectares irrigated area, 24.17 hectares unirrigated, the 48.33 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 171.75 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gagron has One post office (Gagron B.O) and One public telephone. Gagron has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Gagron is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 917 and has total administration over 191 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gagron has 166 children, 95 boys and 71 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 129 (14.07%) males constitute 81 (8.83%) of the population and females 48 (5.23%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 127 (13.85%) males constitute 66 (7.20%) of the population and females 61 (6.65%).

The workforce is 250 male, 145 female with 288 (72.91%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 193 males and 95 females. 93 males and 27 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male and 53 female agricultural labor. 107 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhalawar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
