Galwa is a small village of 586 hectares in Amet Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Galwa depends on AMET, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 28.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Galwa is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Galwa's pin code is 313327[4], and village code is 02994800. The area of Galwa is segregated as 32 hectares irrigated area, 171 hectares unirrigated, the 351 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 31.94 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Galwa has One post office (Galwa B.O) and Seven public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Galwa has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Galwa is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1162 and has total administration over 200 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Galwa has 158 children, 80 boys and 78 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 160 (13.77%) males constitute 78 (6.71%) of the population and females 82 (7.06%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 193 (16.61%) males constitute 97 (8.35%) of the population and females 96 (8.26%).

The workforce is 331 male, 192 female with 403 (77.06%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 311 males and 92 females. 84 males and 62 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 female agricultural labor. 120 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of AMET and Rajsamand to sell marble tiles and make their living.
