Gandala is a small village of 857 hectares in Behror Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gandala depends on BEHROR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gandala is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gandala's pin code is 301709[4], and village code is 00762300. The area of Gandala is segregated as 190 hectares irrigated area, 458 hectares unirrigated, the 152 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 57 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gandala has One post office (Gandala S.O) and Sixty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Gandala has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Gandala is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 6537 and has total administration over 1229 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gandala has 786 children, 455 boys and 331 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 974 (14.90%) males constitute 530 (8.11%) of the population and females 444 (6.79%).

The workforce is 1640 male, 1090 female with 1535 (56.23%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1291 males and 244 females. 575 males and 115 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 36 male and 16 female agricultural labor. 1195 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BEHROR and Alwar to sell wodd furniture and make their living.
