Gandwa is a small village of 2842 hectares in Simalwara Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gandwa depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 10.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Gandwa is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gandwa's pin code is 314402[4], and village code is 03359300. The area of Gandwa is segregated as 325 hectares irrigated area, 334.1 hectares unirrigated, the 764.9 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 932.1 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gandwa has One post office (Gandhwa B.O) and Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Gandwa has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Gandwa is a census village in the district of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 9489 and has total administration over 1807 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gandwa has 1803 children, 912 boys and 891 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 21 (0.22%) males constitute 12 (0.13%) of the population and females 9 (0.09%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 9324 (98.26%) males constitute 4646 (48.96%) of the population and females 4678 (49.30%).

The workforce is 2395 male, 2373 female with 384 (08.05%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 230 males and 154 females. 124 males and 100 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 10 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 4384 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell ghee and make their living.
