Gardana is a small village of 687 hectares in Sangod Tehsil in Kota district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gardana depends on SANGOD, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 130.25% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Gardana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gardana's pin code is 325001[3], and village code is 03837800. The area of Gardana is segregated as 304.64 hectares irrigated area, 263.45 hectares unirrigated, the 44.38 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 74.76 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gardana has One public telephone. Gardana has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Gardana is a census village in the district of Kota, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 804 and has total administration over 158 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gardana has 107 children, 53 boys and 54 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 251 (31.22%) males constitute 122 (15.17%) of the population and females 129 (16.04%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 99 (12.31%) males constitute 47 (5.85%) of the population and females 52 (6.47%).

The workforce is 236 male, 197 female with 276 (63.74%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 152 males and 124 females. 115 males and 114 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 157 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SANGOD and Kota to sell dari and make their living.
