Garniya is a small village of 1929 hectares in Jaitaran Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Garniya depends on Jaitaran, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Garniya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Garniya's pin code is 306302[4], and village code is 02392500. The area of Garniya is segregated as 447 hectares irrigated area, 757 hectares unirrigated, the 239 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 486 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Garniya has One post office (Garniya B.O) and Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Garniya has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Garniya is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3061 and has total administration over 658 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Garniya has 392 children, 210 boys and 182 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 794 (25.94%) males constitute 419 (13.69%) of the population and females 375 (12.25%).

The workforce is 788 male, 634 female with 1136 (79.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 716 males and 420 females. 202 males and 151 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 215 male and 232 female agricultural labor. 286 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaitaran and Pali to sell ghee and make their living.
