Gediya is a small village of 1271 hectares in Todaraisingh Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gediya depends on Todaraisingh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gediya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gediya's pin code is 304505[4], and village code is 02651700. The area of Gediya is segregated as 86.66 hectares irrigated area, 830.92 hectares unirrigated, the 224.28 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 128.83 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gediya has One post office (Lamba Kalan B.O) and One public telephone. Gediya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Gediya is a census village in the district of Tonk, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 840 and has total administration over 171 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gediya has 115 children, 73 boys and 42 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 225 (26.79%) males constitute 112 (13.33%) of the population and females 113 (13.45%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 82 (9.76%) males constitute 36 (4.29%) of the population and females 46 (5.48%).

The workforce is 215 male, 132 female with 268 (77.23%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 184 males and 84 females. 88 males and 33 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 male and 14 female agricultural labor. 79 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Todaraisingh and Tonk to sell ghee and make their living.
