Ghata is a small village of 1365 hectares in Kotra Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Ghata depends on Pindwara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Ghata is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Ghata's pin code is 313324[4], and village code is 03089700. The area of Ghata is segregated as 7 hectares irrigated area, 246 hectares unirrigated, the 96 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1016 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Ghata has One post office Ghata has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Ghata is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2216 and has total administration over 412 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Ghata has 488 children, 240 boys and 248 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2215 (99.95%) males constitute 1123 (50.68%) of the population and females 1092 (49.28%).

Employment[edit]

The workforce is 652 male, 645 female with 671 (51.73%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 490 males and 181 females. 349 males and 65 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 126 male and 110 female agricultural labor. 626 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pindwara and Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
