Ghotiya is a small village of 103 hectares in Ghatol Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Ghotiya depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Ghotiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Ghotiya's pin code is 327023[4], and village code is 03388800. The area of Ghotiya is segregated as 83.77 hectares irrigated area, 6.06 hectares unirrigated, remaining 12.95 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Ghotiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Ghotiya is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 470 and has total administration over 102 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Ghotiya has 85 children, 45 boys and 40 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 468 (99.57%) males constitute 237 (50.43%) of the population and females 231 (49.15%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 234 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 114 male, 120 female with 134 (57.26%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 99 males and 35 females. 93 males and 31 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 3 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 100 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell ghee and make their living.
