Giri is a small village of 2563 hectares in Raipur Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Giri depends on Raipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 113.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Giri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Giri's pin code is 306102[4], and village code is 02405200. The area of Giri is segregated as 612 hectares irrigated area, 880 hectares unirrigated, the 996.36 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 75 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Giri has One post office (Giri B.O) and One Hundred Eighteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Giri has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Giri is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3011 and has total administration over 619 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Giri has 482 children, 237 boys and 245 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1052 (34.94%) males constitute 536 (17.80%) of the population and females 516 (17.14%).

The workforce is 771 male, 378 female with 958 (83.38%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 701 males and 257 females. 111 males and 115 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 107 male and 96 female agricultural labor. 191 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Raipur and Pali to sell earthen pot and make their living.
