Godana is a small village of 301 hectares in Jhadol Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Godana depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 42.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Godana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Godana's pin code is 313702[4], and village code is 03122100. The area of Godana is segregated as 47 hectares irrigated area, 43 hectares unirrigated, the 8 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 87 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Godana has One post office and Two public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Godana has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Godana is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1064 and has total administration over 241 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Godana has 186 children, 105 boys and 81 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 135 (12.69%) males constitute 76 (7.14%) of the population and females 59 (5.55%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 277 (26.03%) males constitute 140 (13.16%) of the population and females 137 (12.88%).

The workforce is 284 male, 68 female with 325 (92.33%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 267 males and 58 females. 95 males and 11 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 41 male and 7 female agricultural labor. 27 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
