Godelai is a small village of 3277 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Godelai depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Godelai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Godelai's pin code is 342306[4], and village code is 01977500. The area of Godelai is segregated as 70 hectares irrigated area, 2899 hectares unirrigated, the 48 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 260 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Godelai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Godelai is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1692 and has total administration over 322 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Godelai has 350 children, 206 boys and 144 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 144 (8.51%) males constitute 72 (4.26%) of the population and females 72 (4.26%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 26 (1.54%) males constitute 14 (0.83%) of the population and females 12 (0.71%).

The workforce is 459 male, 468 female with 682 (73.57%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 423 males and 259 females. 293 males and 184 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 34 male and 37 female agricultural labor. 245 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
