Gothra is a small village of 388 hectares in Lachhmangarh Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gothra depends on KISHANGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gothra is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gothra's pin code is 301413[4], and village code is 00814900. The area of Gothra is segregated as 333 hectares irrigated area, 1 hectares unirrigated, the 9 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 45 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gothra has One post office (Gothra B.O) and Twenty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Gothra has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Gothra is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2920 and has total administration over 517 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gothra has 355 children, 184 boys and 171 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 564 (19.32%) males constitute 294 (10.07%) of the population and females 270 (9.25%).

The workforce is 890 male, 814 female with 1025 (60.15%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 743 males and 282 females. 341 males and 151 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 46 male and 20 female agricultural labor. 679 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of KISHANGARH and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
