Gothra is a small village of 963 hectares in Nawalgarh Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gothra depends on NAWALGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 210.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gothra is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Gothra's pin code is 333304[4], and village code is 00742700. The area of Gothra is segregated as 210 hectares irrigated area, 647 hectares unirrigated, the 51.78 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 54 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gothra has One post office (Gothara B.O) and Thirty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Gothra has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Demographics[edit]

Gothra is a census village in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4070 and has total administration over 711 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gothra has 592 children, 313 boys and 279 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 530 (13.02%) males constitute 289 (7.10%) of the population and females 241 (5.92%).

The workforce is 1051 male, 494 female with 874 (56.57%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 726 males and 148 females. 420 males and 114 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 9 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 671 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of NAWALGARH and Jhunjhunu to sell ghee and make their living.
