Gundi is a small village of 423 hectares in Pirawa Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gundi depends on Bhawani Mandi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 45.53% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gundi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gundi's pin code is 326501[4], and village code is 04095100. The area of Gundi is segregated as 68.43 hectares irrigated area, 259.42 hectares unirrigated, the 72.34 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 22.35 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gundi has One post office (Gundi B.O). Gundi has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Gundi is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 783 and has total administration over 142 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gundi has 91 children, 49 boys and 42 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 126 (16.09%) males constitute 65 (8.30%) of the population and females 61 (7.79%).

The workforce is 202 male, 201 female with 378 (93.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 191 males and 187 females. 130 males and 160 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 23 male and 19 female agricultural labor. 25 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bhawani Mandi and Jhalawar to sell bricks and make their living.
