Gungara is a small village of 1472 hectares in Sikar Tehsil in Sikar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gungara depends on Sikar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 281.39% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gungara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Gungara's pin code is 332027[4], and village code is 01701500. The area of Gungara is segregated as 281.39 hectares irrigated area, 969.32 hectares unirrigated, the 103.99 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 117.2 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Gungara has One post office (Gungara B.O) and Twenty One public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Gungara has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Gungara is a census village in the district of Sikar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3893 and has total administration over 679 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Gungara has 473 children, 274 boys and 199 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 555 (14.26%) males constitute 283 (7.27%) of the population and females 272 (6.99%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2252 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1197 male, 1055 female with 920 (40.85%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 778 males and 142 females. 500 males and 112 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 60 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 1332 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sikar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
